Donna J. Evans

I lived my early adult life as a wife and stay-at-home mother of nine children. After completing the first draft of Hunter on the Sly, I submitted it to agents, and when two suggested I have it professionally edited, I decided I wanted to improve my writing and do it myself. I discovered a love for all genres while completing my BS Liberal Studies degree, but I didn't feel that I was finished learning. I continued with English master's and doctoral programs at Washington State University, followed by a tenured university position in rhetoric and writing. In that role, I have published academic essays, creative nonfiction, poetry, and many writing program reports.

Born in Colorado and living there almost half my life, my family followed my husband's jobs, first to southeastern Idaho, then to Oregon and Washington. My hire as faculty at Eastern Oregon University landed us in Oregon again, where I retired. I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, writing, traveling, jeeping, camping, crafting, music, and performing on tenor saxophone in community and big bands.
